Getting Back To Normal

Life is finally starting to get back to normal around here and I LOVE it! Here are a few updates on our little family...
Kiley: He's busy working, walking, and just plain being amazing! He started working back at the Abbey Inn and helps me take care of the apartments. He has a lot of motion back in his foot now but he will probably never get all of it back. He tells me that his big toe and that side of his foot have very little feeling in them which causes him to limp a little bit. We are all so happy that he's walking around and doing stuff again! It's so nice!
Me: I'm doing really good these days! I told Kiley the other day that I am finally happy with how our house is. I feel like it's pretty well organized and put together. Of course, there is always new things to do and new projects but overall, almost a whole year later, I think our little apartment feels like a home :) Anyways, I keep myself pretty busy these days with my two girls and the apartments.
Azuree: Talk about a busy little girly! She loves playing at the park, playing with Emri and her cousins, nursery, books, play dough, and Frozen. We seriously watch Frozen all the time! (It doesn't help that her mom might be slightly obsessed with it as well...) Her favorite things change almost everyday but today her favorite color is yellow, her favorite food is beans, her favorite toy is a horsey, and her favorite thing to play is a book.
Emri: She is crawling all over the place! And has recently discovered the stairs and does them very well (except for the going down part). She loves oatmeal, eggs, laughing, her blanket and watching/playing with her big sis. Usually I feel like Emri couldn't be an easier or happier baby, but lately I feel like she must be teething or something cause she's being quite the stinker. But we love her anyways :) She pulls herself up to standing but struggles when we hold her hands and try to have her "walk." That's not her favorite. She says ma-ma, da-da, and she kinda' says bye-bye. She's good at waving hi and bye too.

Here are some pics from the last few months...
Once Kiley started getting a little more mobile we took several trips to the park that's just down the street. Kiley's sister had some neighbors that let us borrow this scooter for a while until we found our own. It was very nice for him to have!
I'm not sure if I mentioned this in one of my last posts but while Kiley wasn't walking Kiley decided to grow out his beard. He said it was a symbol of his road to recovery :)
I am one proud Mamma! Azuree is completely potty trained and has been for a while now! This is a pic of her eating her reward for going potty. Yay for ice cream! But even though she loves ice cream, it really wasn't a motivation for her. We really couldn't get her to go potty on the potty until she was ready to, no kind of bribery would work for this little girl.
We went to Moab for Thanksgiving and had a blast!! This is Emri with cousin James. Aren't they the cutest?!
The "kid table" this year :)
Azuree had so much fun with her cousin Gentry!
No idea what they are doing in this pic but...it looks fun!
These are only a few of my mom's famous pies. SOOO delicious!
This was a fun Christmas craft we did that Azuree loved :)
Before we headed back to Moab for the family Christmas party Kiley got his cast off. He was super excited to get it off! He wore a boot around for a while after that.  (Sorry, I know his foot/leg pics are never very pretty.)
Can you guess which one was the injured one?
When we went to Moab for my family Christmas get together my mom put on a tea party for her and her grand-daughters. It has become such a fun tradition and the girls love it! My mom even makes all of the little girls aprons for the party :)
They also made fun, fancy paper hats :)
So much fun!
This was Emri's first time meeting Santa. She mostly just stared.
Azuree on the other hand couldn't have been more excited! This year she talked about him all the time and loved being able to see him.
We went back to our home in Cedar to celebrate Christmas. This is what Kiley and I gave Azuree. I found it at DI and we painted it and fixed it up. I think I was more excited about it than she was :)
Emri was spoiled!
My gift (I was so excited about this! I desperately needed a new sewing machine!)...
And Kiley's gift. We were so blessed this year. There were so many people who helped us out this holiday season after Kiley's accident. We are so, so grateful!
This is just a random, cute pic of Azuree when she fell asleep in the middle of the floor (she never just falls asleep somewhere so we had to document it).
I LOOOOVE this picture! Makes me laugh everytime!
Sisters!
Park time
This is the scooter that Kiley's family bought for him. He was so grateful to have it and used it quite a bit.
Azuree was being daddy's little helper :)
Silly, silly Emri :)
Kiley made Azuree some furniture for her dollhouse. I think he did such an amazing job! I love them!!
Then I painted them :)
This is one of my favorite pic's of Azuree. I think it really shows her personality :)
Crawling...kind of...
Azuree loves boiled eggs! But one day she saved the yolk for last and then stuffed the whole thing in her mouth. She had a hard time getting it down :)
Kiley went back into the hospital sometime in January to get a big ol' 5 inch long pin taken out of his foot. The pin was just holding things in place while they healed. Once he got the pin out we went and had a check up with the Doc up north and he gave Kiley the OK to start walking on it with the boot. Then a few weeks after that...no boot! That was an exciting day :)
Azuree and her favorite stuffed monkey!
Aw :)
Our girls always end up like this, no matter what we do...
Major wedgie!
I got my hair cut!
Here's some beard pics...
It got sooooooooo bushy!
The night that he shaved it off we had a little fun! Below is our version of "Name That Prophet" ;)

Eeeeewwww....
And eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.....
This is his "my-wife-made-me-shave-my-beard" look :)
I sure married a handsome man!!
Azuree sure loves her cousin Tucker!
What a sweetie :)
Playing outside in the warmer weather....
Aaron came down to visit us. It's always good to have him come and visit!
Watching Uncle Chip fly his airplane!
Kiley and some of his family went and explored some cave's in Hurricane.
Kiley had a blast!! I think he mostly loved being able to do stuff like this again :)
Emri loves the movie Frozen too!
 Silly face!
She put on a pair of Daddy's work socks all by herself one day :)
This was Kiley and I's most recent project. We made a TV stand out of pallets!!
I am so happy with how it turned out!!

Well, until next time...

Good timber does not grow with ease,
The stronger wind, the stronger trees.
The further sky, the greater length.
The more the storm, the more the strength.
By sun and cold, by rain and snow,
In trees and men good timbers grow.

A Cowgirl, A Pumpkin & A Cast

For the last month or so things have been sooooooooooooo crazy around here! And I have felt like the craziness never stops! Thankfully I feel like it has slowed down just a little bit the last few days. And I have a few minutes to myself right now so what do I do? Update the blog :)
Hubby update: Kiley gets a little better everyday. This last month has been one of the longest and hardest times in his life but he has been so strong through everything. I couldn't be more proud of him. He still has a long road ahead of him but at least we feel like we are on the up-swing of this whole thing. He also has a cool green cast on now!
Me update: I spend most of my time taking care of my girls, Kiley and the apartments. Yup, that about sums up my life these days :)
Azuree update: Azuree is getting so big and so grown up! She has been a great helper for her mommy through all of this and she has been so patient. Mommy has been pretty busy and she's so good at keeping herself entertained. She is such a good girl.
Emri update: I think that she will be crawling by the end of this week! She already gets around just by scooting and rolling, but lately she has been getting up on her knees and trying to move that way. So it won't be long!
So, here's some pics...
 Love these guys!
Emri snuggling with her elephant. Aaaaaaaaaw :)
Trying out the high chair for the first time...
The first time that we went up north for Kiley's surgery we were told that they couldn't do it that week. It was pretty sad, but at least we were able to hang out with Brenda, and Halie and Michael and their family. They took Azuree to a Halloween party while we were there and they let her borrow their Tigger costume. She looooooooved it!
Azuree's mustache is my favorite :) (Don't mind me, that was my "trying-hard-to-keep-my-mustache-in-place-while-smiling-at-the-same-time" face...)
We went back up north for Kiley's foot surgery the next week which was the week of Halloween. Halie, Michael and Brenda took Azuree to another Halloween party. (This time we brought Azuree's costume just in case we were going to be there for Halloween.) This is a picture of Azuree the cowgirl, Adrienne the black cat, and Logan dressed as Scooby-Doo! Azuree had so much fun with these two! She loves her cousins so much.
She was such a cute little cowgirl :)
When we came home from Kiley's foot surgery we had an awesome sign on the front of our apartment! It made our day :) Thanks Chip & Nicole's family!
We actually ended up coming home for Halloween. Things were kind of hectic when we got back so Christian and Melanie were nice enough to take Azuree to a trunk-or-treat that they were going to. I felt bad that I couldn't take her so I was so thankful that they were willing to take her. She came back and was so proud of how much candy she got! She was in heaven :) This is a pic of Emri the pumpkin, James the bee, and Azuree the cowgirl.
Emri was our little pumpkin this year!
 Love, love, love my girls!!!!
We didn't have the chance to carve pumpkins this year either, but a friend gave us a little pumpkin and Azuree was able to color it and put stickers on it. She loved it :)
I just had to include this picture. We put Azuree on the stairs for time out. One day I heard Azuree go over to the stairs and say "Ok monkey, you go to time out." I went over and this is what I saw :) Made me laugh.
Here is a random pic of a sign that I made one afternoon. Kinda fun. Next time I will probably add some color...
Kiley and I went up north again last week and he got a cast on! I think it helps him a lot and allows him to be a little bit more mobile.
I am getting so excited for Thanksgiving! I love this time of year, but I also get kinda homesick for my family. This year it's our turn to spend Thanksgiving with my family, and I couldn't be more excited! I feel like I don't see my family near enough so I love it when we are able to get together for holidays and things. I love spending time with family!
Kiley and I want to thank all of our family and friends again for all of their help, love and prayers. We would not be able to make it through this trial without you. We love you all so much!
